In 1850 the Wood family lived in Burns, Allegany, New York, USA. [1] Joseph Wood (39) & Laura Wood (42) with Augusta Wood (7), Hiram B Wood (5), Rozella Wood (2) & Viola Wood (0).

In 1855 the Wood family lived in Burns, Allegany, New York, USA. [2] Joseph Wood (44) & Laura Wood (47) with Susan A Wood (12), Hiram B Wood (9), Rosella L Wood (7), Mayola Wood (5) with Daniel C Holliday (18).

In 1860 the Wood family lived in Naples, Ontario, New York. [3] Joseph Wood (50) FW Baptist Clergy & Laura Wood (51) with Hiram Wood (15), Rosa Wood (13) & Maola Wood (10).

On 7 August 1862 Hiram B Wood (18) enlisted at a Private with Company D, New York 126th Infantry at Naples, New York. [4] [5]

Promoted to Full Corporal on 1 January 1863.

He was wounded at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on 2 July 1863, a Corporal with Company D, 126th Infantry, and died the next day. [6]

He was buried at the Burns Cemetery, Burns, Allegany County, New York, United States. [7]
