Biography

Abraham Woodcock was baptized in Kinderhook, New York, in January 1760, son of John Woodcock and Elsje "Alice" Cornelise. In the Revolution he served in the 84th or King's Royal Regiment. As a loyalist (subsequently United Empire Loyalist) he was transported to Lower Canada in 1783 and to Upper Canada in 1784. He married Katarina (Catharine, Katy, Treinkia, Frankia) Peterson around 1783, who seems to have made the move to Canada from New York City in 1783 with her own family. They farmed in Fredericksburgh Township, Lennox County, and later Portland Township, Frontenac County, Upper Canada. They had twelve children. He died in 1835.
