Biography

Name

Hannah Woodcock

Birth

was born about 1808.

Parents

Peter Woodcock Elishia Woodcock 2 PLAC See Note Page

Notes: Hannah was documented as a widow on the 1891 census, when she was living with her daughter Margaret's family ( entered in Ancestry as Hoff, but actually Hott), and her last name was entered as Bereau. No other marriage, death or other census data has yet been provided that supplies a primary source to link this Hannah to her putative father Peter, but it is overwhelmingly likely since it appears that Peter and cousin Abraham were likely the first Woodcocks in the region who passed on the name. Abraham's daughter Hannah died in 1846. Also of interest is that Hannah, baptized Anglican, married a Roman Catholic Quebecois, at a time when such an action would have approached scandal. Indeed, it appears her husband might still have been alive, and living apart, in the 1891 census. (See husband Joseph's entry) The search for a 1903 death record continues.
