Biography

Sylvester was born in Loughlers (?), Ontario, in 1836 to Jacob and Jane (Hyland) Woodcock. In 1860, a mechanic, resident in Georgina (York, North Riding), he married Elizabeth Smart; they had at least six children. In 1860s and 70s he was a saw miller in East Gwillimbury, York North. In 1877 he married Mary Elizabeth Doane; they had two children. In 1881 he was in East Gwillimbury, a sawyer. He died in 1901 in East Gwillimbury.
