Mrs. Hogan, 82, Dies; Funeral Slated Friday Mrs. William S. Hogan Sr., 82, of the Lower Richland Community, died Wednesday night in the Columbia Hospital after an illness of two weeks. The former Nell Woodruff, Mrs. Hogan was born in Batesville, Miss., a daughter of the late Frank Buist Woodruff and Margaret Westmoreland Woodruff. She had made her home in Eastover since 1910. Her husband, the late W. S. Hogan, Sr., taught school in Lower Richmond, Bamburg, Ridgeway and other locations throughout South Carolina. Mrs. Hogan was a member of the Lebanon Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Mary Hogan, Eastover; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. William S. Hogan, Jr., Harrell Hill; three grandchildren, W. S. Hogan, III, Tucson, Arizona, Dr. Gilbert S. Hogan, Lykesland, and Mrs. Eugene Koon, Harrell Hill; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. W. D. Anderson, Sr., Gastonia, N.C.; a brother, Dr. Paden Woodruff, Salisbury, N.C., and several nieces and nephews. Her only son, W. S. Hogan, Jr,. died July 21, 1964. Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. in Lebanon Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. James E Rogers, D.D. Interment will be in the churchyard. Active pallbearers will be T. Henry Suydam, Sr., Thomas D. Smith, W. D. Anderson, Jr., George W. Woodruff, Col Paden E. Woodruff, Jesse Reese, W. A. Woodruff, Jr. and Thomas G. Woodruff. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Official Board of Lebanon Methodist church, Dr. Isaac Hayne, and Frank Brown. Friends may call at the residence and at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel until Friday at 10:30 a.m. Burial: Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery Eastover Richland County South Carolina, USA
