Biography

William was born in 1810. He was the son of Samuel Woods. He passed away in 1895. [1]

Arrival 1834 • Liverpool, England We don’t know what prompted William Woods to leave Belfast in 1834, but he took his young wife Margaret and their two boys, James and John, to Liverpool, where William worked as a turncock on the docks for nineteen years.

Arrival 27 Jul 1854 • Port Adelaide, South Australia, Australia On the Albatross - William, having paid £50 for the passage for his family, worked his own way as a second-cabin steward, and after a trip of 87 days they settled in Gawler
