Notes
1851 England Census lists him as 31 year old farmer with 20 acres and 2 servants. His wife’s age is given as 28. In the same Census there is a 15 year old coal miner’s assistant named James Woods (born in Sutton, Lancashire, England) lodging with Henry and Margaret Aspinall. This is confusing me, but there could have been another James Woods in the area.
1861 England Census lists him as James Wood, a 41 year old widower and farmer with 24 acres. His birthplace is shown as Halewood and he lives with son Thomas, age 7; daughter Ellen, age 14; son Henry, age 12; daughter Catharine, age 10; son Robert, age 8; and son James, age 5.
Death Index says James Wood died sometime Oct-Dec 1891 in Prescot, Lancashire, England.
