On 31 Mar 1901 the Woods family lived in Charles Street, Portadown, Armagh, Ireland. Parents John Woods (50), a farm labouer & Elisabella Woods (38) with children; Mary Ann Woods (18) Reeler in Spring Mill, Thomas Woods (16) Weaver of Cambric, Martha Jane Woods (15) Daffer in Spring Mill, Isabella Woods (12) Daffer in Spring Mill, Richard Woods (10), James Woods (8) & Sarah Woods (6). Mary Ann Woods (mill worker) married Joseph Benson (labourer) on 26 June 1903 at St Marks Church, Portadown. Fathers Robert Benson & John Woods, both labourers. Witnesses Anna Pierson and Alexander Fleming.

In 1906 they lived in Garvaghy Road, where daughter Maggie was born.

On 1 April 1911 the Benison family lived in Charles Street, Portadown, Armagh. joseph Benison (40) Pork Carer and Mary Anne Benison (40) with Maggie Benison (5), Joseph Benison (3) and William John Benison (2). Sister Jane McInally (22) was visiting and boarder Sarah Woods (15) Wool Weaver. ^[4]
