Mary Ada Woods was the daughter of James Woods and Alberta Neff. [1][2]. The Woods family moved often, living in Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, and various places in Arkansas. Grandpa Woods followed the building trade as a painter and was out of work at times, so they lived with various relatives. [3]
Mary Ada Woods and Jesse James married 1 Apr 1923 in Blytheville, Arkansas. [4]
Ada and Jesse James lived in Caruthersville, Missouri after their marriage and moved to Weona, Poinsett County in 1927, when their daughter, Mary Frances, was two weeks of age. They are enumerated there in 1930[5]and 1940. [6]
James is more than occasionally typed or incorrectly transcribed as Jones and the obituary of her father was no exception as she is typed as Mrs. Ada Jones rather than James. [7]
Mary Ada Woods James enjoyed cooking for the Marked Tree Rotary Club, crocheting, making crafts, and spending time with her family. She was a fantastic Cook!!
My favorite dishes were her chocolate cake, Chicken and Dumplings, and Floating Island.
