Conflicting Information

I have conflicting information for the birth of Elizabeth Wood(s), who married John Lester:

The death certificate of Mrs. John Lester, who died July 21, 1923, gives her birth as June 15, 1851 In Stoke County, North Carolina - her mother's maiden name as Nancy Williams.
The informant was her son, Floyd Cheeks.

Making this Elizabeth appear to be someone else:

Elizabeth Woods (or Wood), daughter of James & Nancy (Morris) Woods was born July 6, 1855 in Peter's Creek, Patrick County, Virginia.[1]
