Biography

Robert Woodson was a son of Sarah (Porter) Woodson (abt.1668-1723) and Benjamin Lewis Woodson (1666-1723). His birth data are not certain; probably he was born between 1698 and 1708 in Henrico County, Virginia.

He married about 1730 Rebecca Pryor, with whom he had children:

1. Elizabeth WOODSON
2. John WOODSON
3. James WOODSON
4. Benjamin WOODSON
5. Robert WOODSON
6. Mary WOODSON
7. Sarah WOODSON

Robert Woodson died 19 Sep 1750 in Goochland County, Virginia.

Notes

This is a merged profile. One previous version indicated that this family may have settled in Mississippi, however if still relevant, it should be verified on the basis of credible reference citations.
Robert's will, written 7 May 1748 and proved 19 Sep 1750 shows that all of his children were minors. This being the case, then the profiles of their first 3 children require revision. Their profiles contain birth data which are only estimates.
Rebecca was still alive when she relinquished her dower rights in August of 1754.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Robert by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Robert:

Woodson-1558 and Woodson-113 appear to represent the same person because: Both profiles represent the spouse of Rebecca Pryor, who also is duplicated.
