Josiah Woodson was the son of John and Judith Woodson. It is not certain how the name Josiah entered the family, but it was frequently used and made it difficult to identify the person. In this case, Josiah can be identified, for he stated that he lived on the plantation on Stony Creek that had been given him by his father, John. Josiah married Mary Royall and lived in Goochland County. He and Mary had sons, John and Josiah, and a daughter Elizabeth. His will was proved in Goochland County on November 16, 1736.
