Caleb Woodward was born 9 August 1776 and died 18 October 1856. He was buried at Salem View Cemetery, New Salem, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.[1] His parents have been incorrectly attributed as Richard Woodward and Hannah Taylor on the FIndaGrave website. His parents were William Woodward and Mary Pyle

Research Notes

This Caleb Woodward has been confused with Caleb Woodward-7952, son of Richard Howard Woodward and Hannah (Taylor) Woodward born 1780 and died 18 October 1856, according to other profiles on Wikitree and other ancestry profiles that have been extensively researched. Too much of a coincidence that both Caleb Woodward's died on the same day, and probably too coincidental that both claim to have in their family trees a John Woodward married to Ann Pyle and James Woodward married to Ann Pyle and is said to be the son of William Pyle married to Mary Pyle.

According to the Richard and Hannah Taylor Woodward family tree page in the Woodward family history,[2] Caleb is the son of Richard and Hannah and also the father of Davis Woodward, however, the dates of birth of the other family members don't align. It's just quite possible that Richard Woodward was the son of Richard Woodward born 1695 and this is another branch of the family tree, with 2 sons names Caleb.

This profile was created to connect the Hall and Hull families of Fayette County. This Caleb Woodward is shown to be the father of Davis, the father of Ebenezer.[3]

Caleb Woodward represented in this profile is father of Davis Woodward, born June 1805 and died 1882 and the profile for Davis Woodward that was attached to the other Caleb Woodward profile has been attached to his parents, has been attached to his father.

Woodward-3207 and Woodward-1176 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same wife, same death date and location. Birth date needs to be reconciled.
