Biography
Birth
Matilda was baptised at St Peter le Bailey, Oxford, Oxfordshire on 16th March 1831[1]. She was the daughter of John Woodward and Sarah (Beesley) Woodward. Her father stated on the register that he was a wheelwright and that the family were living in St Peter le Bailey at the time.
In the 1841 census Matilda was living in Whitchurch, Buckinghamshire, England. [2]
