Abigail Woodward was born on 14 February 1686/7 in Medford, Middlesex, (then) Massachusetts Bay Colony, the daughter of Daniel Woodward.[1]

Research Notes

Spouse's Identity. A previous version of this profile included a research note saying, "The case for her marrying John Richards of New London in Preston includes evidence that his father lived there a significant time, his widow remarried (elsewhere) in Connecticut, brother Amos is said to have married in Preston. The children listed clearly belong to the Preston marriage. Otherwise, it would seem there might be another Abigail Woodward."

The identity of Abigail's husband given as the John Richards born Beverly, son of John Richards and his wife, Elizabeth Woodbury in Susan Kilbride, "The Identity of Elizabeth (Richards) Standish and the Richards Family of Beverly, Massachusetts, and Preston, Connecticut,"[3]

Other Parents/Other spouse. A source previously listed an Abigail Woodward, perhaps the one of this profile, (but more likely Abigail daughter of John Woodward and Rebecca Robbins of Newton), married William Greenwood on 21 June 1715 in Newton, Middlesex, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[4]

The first John Richards appears to be a conflation, as the parents and siblings are wrong for the spouse of this profile.

Richards-9821 must be child of Richards-463 and his 2nd spouse Prentiss-357 note the wikibot error pointing out deceased parents on profile.

Seems improbable that Abigail Woodward married 2 different John Richards. Is this accurate? The Johns have the same birth year, but purportedly different sets of parents. I’ve also seen records of a John Richards born around the same time who married an Ann Prentiss in 1725. Perhaps a second marriage?
