Frank. [aka, Francis Frederick 'Fred'] Woodward died October 31st, 1934. This per the Advocate in Burnie, carried the following article: [Monday 5 November 1934, page 2] [3] It read, re the Late Mr. Fred. Woodward, Burnie. There was a large attendance on Saturday afternoon at the funeral of the late Mr. Francis Frederick Wood-ward, of Burnie, who died at the Spencer Hospital, Wynyard, on Wednesday morning, following on attack of pneumonia.
The late Mr. Woodward was a member of the Burnie Municipal Band, and had for many years been bass drummer. The full band was present at the funeral, and rendered several sacred selections at the graveside. Rev. Father Scarfe conducted the funeral service.
The chief mourners were Messrs. F. Woodward (father), Horace, Arthur, Jack, Norman, and Bertie (brothers)j and Misses Dorothy and Violet Woodward and Mrs. Bert Woodward (sisters). Messrs. A. Atkinson, M. Healy, W. Stratton, R. Dowling, Stan. Summers and Phil. Jacobs were the carriers. Many floral tributes were received from friends and relatives, and also wreaths from the staff of the River-Don Trading Company, the Municipal Brass Band and Warden and Mrs. J. R, Hilder.
