Edith was born on the 7th Sep 1888 at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA. She was the daughter of Samuel Amos Woolley and Elizabeth Ann Stephenson . She was married twice 1st to Andrew A Andersen on the 31st Aug 1910 at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. 2nd to Norman Hathaway Thomas on the 12th Sep 1921 at Weber, Utah, United States. She attended public schools in Salt Lake City, and also the University of Utah. She studied piano under Professor George Careless, and she became an accomplished musician and accompanist. She was the mother of twins boys who died shortly after birth in 1913. She had another child named Andreas W. Anderson who was born in Laramie Wyoming in 1915
