Jane Dodd was enumerated at Twenty-ninth District, Fayette County, Georgia for the December 14, United States Census, 1850. She was noted as born 1806 in South Carolina as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male Edward Dodd, male Jesse Dodd, female Luiza C Dodd, female Susanah H Dodd, male Calvin J Dodd and female Tabitha (?).[2]

Jane Dodd was enumerated at Jonesboro Post Office, Clayton County, Georgia for the June 22, United States Census, 1870. She was noted as born 1805-1806 in South Carolina as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male Calvin Dodd, female Elna Dodd, female Cora Dodd and female Ollie Dodd.[3]

Killed in steamboat explosion on Caddo Lake out of Jefferson, Texas.

As listed in the Find A Grave Index,[4]Jane (Word) Dodd is buried at Macedonia Cemetery in Bright Star, Miller County, Arkansas.[5]

There is a possible problem with this profile. Find a Grave list a Jane Word for these parents but that Jane Word is a different person born in 1808. Look at the Find A Grave information for William Word and Jenette (Fairbairn) Word. That Jane Word is shown married to William Mahone and she died in 1866 in Alabama.

Also, Pedigree Resource File lists her father as a William Word but he lived 1779-1814 (which could mean he was the one that died at Horshoe Bend as a military officer).
