Walter E. Worden, Jr., 78, of Exeter, passed away peacefully January 9, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Thear M. (Salisbury) Worden for 49 years.

Born in North Kingstown, he was the son of the late Walter E. and Verna (Seavey) Worden.

Mr. Worden was a US Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.

He was a machinist at Stanley Bostitch for many years before retiring. He was a longtime member of the Rolling Greens Golf Club and the American Legion Post 12.

Besides his wife, he leaves two children, Douglas E. Worden and his wife Shawna of Charlestown and Linda S. Smith and her husband Edward of Carolina; two sisters, Phyllis Huling of North Kingstown and Gladys Mastracchio of East Greenwich; and four granddaughters, Stephanie, Emily, Laura and Haley.

A Memorial Service was held on January 14, 2012 in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, North Kingstown. Burial with Military Honors followed in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Home & Hospice Care of RI, South Team, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
