Obituary:
David Kenneth "Ken" Worden, age 94, died peacefully at Quincy Valley Medical Center on July 8, 2010. Ken was born in Nora, NE on November 9, 1915, to Bertha and Wilbur Worden. Ken was the youngest of five children. He grew up and went to school in Oak, NE until he drove out to Washington with his brother, Garth, in 1937, to work in the apple industry. He worked around Wenatchee and Dryden and met the love of his life, Helen Reiman, and they were married on December 10, 1939. Ken served in the Coast Guard Reserve for four years during World War II in Longview, WA. After World War II, they moved back to Dryden and remained in the Wenatchee Valley to this day. Ken went to work at Alcoa in 1952, where he worked for 25 years. He was quite an active member of Eastmont Presbyterian Church. When Ken retired from Alcoa, he spent the winters in Arizona and his summers running the Tall Timber Church Camp near Lake Wenatchee. He spent the rest of his time with his family, which he was the heart and soul of.
Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife; along with all of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his three daughters and son, Sandy Dodd of Soap Lake, Judie Orange and Pamela Worden, both of East Wenatchee and Keith Worden of Moses Lake. Along with his children, Ken had 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Ken was a wonderful man and anyone who met him, would say the same. He will be greatly missed by anyone who was lucky enough to have their life graced with his presence.
Services were held Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Telford's Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee. Arrangements by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
