Source 5: Note: Leonard Gibbs Worden is recorded here as Leonard B. Worden.

Worden Leonard B, 52, proprietor of the Worden House, died Thursday afternoon. It seems he had been unwell for several days with acute inflammation of the kidneys, but was up and about the house the day previous, but unable to attend to business. His attending physician, Dr. C. M. Prickett, had prescribed morphine to be administered every three house, but after taking one dose the patient was compelled to vomit, and those attending upon him, supposing that the drug had been ejected from his stomach, gave him another dose. In this way three doses, we believe, were administered. Instead of being ejected from the stomach, it seems that the medicine had been absorbed into his system and the patient succumbed to the influence of the drug and never recovered, but died at 2 p.m. He leaves an aged mother, a wife, and five children, all of whom, with the exception of his son George in Syracuse, reside in Noble County. Before moving to Noble County he had resided in LaGrange County, where he was a member in good standing of a lodge of F. & A. M. He was a member of the North Star Lodge IOOF of Albion. Burial, Albion Cemetery. Unknown Albion newspaper 5-1-1879 Contributed by Judy Richter
