John "Happy Jack" Worden passed away peacefully in his home at the Good Samaritan Village in Fort Collins on Sunday, August 28, 2011. He was born February 3, 1923 in Kingston, Ill. He served as an MP during World War II in the European Theater and ended his service career in Okinawa at the end of the War.

John married his wife of 52 years, Fawn (Rex) Worden, and moved to Fort Collins in 1959. Jack owned Worden's Painting, and later managed Everitt Paint Store. He took great pride in sponsoring the Worden's Painting fast pitch softball team. He retired in 1993 when he and Fawn moved to Las Vegas, Nev. He returned to Fort Collins in 2009 following the passing of his wife. He was preceded in death by his wife Fawn, and is survived by his children; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He touched many lives with his infectious laughter and genuine personality. He will be greatly missed by all who met and loved him.
