History: On 28 January 1832 Christian Barnes sold half of Lot 28, Concession 6, to Enoch Wiswell and the other half to Samuel Worden. On 6 December 1865 William Henry Wiswell and his wife Lucinda of the Town of Guelph sold their share to Joshua Freeman Worden, reserving ¼ acre as a burying ground. The agreement stated that it “shall be used as a family burying ground by the said parties”, that is the Wordens and the Wiswells.

Samuel Worden Sr. (1792–1876) was an organizer of the First Baptist Church of Esquesing. His children were Nancy, Mary, Esther, Deborah, Joshua Freeman, Sarah Elizabeth, William L., Edward O’Brian, and Lucinda.
