Richard Bernard was born on 25 January 1930 at New Bedford, Massachusetts, the son of George Richard Worster and Edith M Hulton. [1]
In the 1930 census Richard was living with his parents and maternal grandmother at 533 Rivet St, New Bedford. He was aged just 3 months. [2]
In the 1940 census George and Edith Worster were still living at 533 Rivet St. However Richard and brother Friedrich have not been located in this census.
The 1949 New Bedford Directory recorded Richard living with his parents at 81 Rockdale Ave, New Bedford. Richard was working as a mill operative at F.C.M. [3]
Richard Bernard Worster married Alexandria [sic] Botelho in 1954 at either New Bedford or Dartmouth, Massachusetts. [4]
This couple had four children.
Daughter Donna J Worster died on 6 September 1995 at Freetown, Bristol, Massahusetts aged 39 years. Her date of birth was recorded as 22 August 1956. [5]
Richard B Worster died on 6 January 2009 at East Freetown, Massachusetts aged 78 years. His date of birth was recorded as 25 January 1930. [6]
His obituary published in the Standard-Times dated 10 January 2009 read -
NEW BEDFORD — Richard B. Worster, 78, of East Freetown died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Alexandrina (Botelho) Worster.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late George R. and Edith M. (Helton) Worster, he lived in Freetown for many years.
Mr. Worster was formerly employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
An auto enthusiast, he was a member of the Old Tymers Club and the Mass. Beach Buggy Association. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; three children, Michael and Gail, both of New Bedford; and Mark of East Freetown; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Donna Worster and the brother of the late Frederick Worster.
His Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday January 13, 2009 at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
Burial with military honors will follow in Rural Cemetery. His family will receive visitors from 10-11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Humane Society SouthCoast, 31 Ventura Drive, Dartmouth, MA 02747. [7]

Alexandrina Worster was born 17 November 1934 and died 20 June 2012. Her obituary read - Alexandrina Worster, 77 years old, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Richard B. Worster and the daughter of the late John and Rose (Picanso) Botelho. Loving mother of two sons, a daughter and the late Donna Worster of New Bedford. She was the loving grandmother of 6 granddaughters, 2 grandsons and several great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 10:30 am at the Rural Cemetery, located on Dartmouth Street in New Bedford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
