John Wren was born in Middlesex, England.

John Wren was born in 1838. He was the son of John Wren and Sarah Ibotson. ^[1] A baptism was supposed to have taken place on 9th December 1838, in Holloway, MIddlesex, but so far have not located it in Free.reg.org.uk, or Family Search.

In 1841, John was residing with his parents and baby sister, in Pleasant Row, Saint Mary, Islington. ^[2]

In 1851, John was residing with his parents and three siblings in Saint Mary, Islington, MIddlesex. ^[3]

In 1863, John married Fanny Booth. The marriage was registered in Islington, MIddlesex. ^[4]

John and Fanny settled in Islington, where they had two sons. John was employed as a milkman. ^[5]

In 1881, John and his wife were residing in Rupert Road, Islington, MIddlesex. John was employed as a gardener. The couple had two sons in the household: Arthur (17) and Ernest (12). ^[6]

In 1891, John was seen as a boarder in a workhouse. He was noted as being a pauper and was employed as milkman. He was also noted as still being married, but there was no mention of children or his wife. ^[7]

Research Note

This profile when uploaded appears to have had three separate John Wren's merged into one person. One who was living in Essex with other children, another living in Hertfordshire and the other who is this man, in Islington. Some of the children listed belong to different fathers.
