Biography

Joel was born about 1785 in Virginia to parents who are currently at this moment, unknown. Though there's many opinions from others as to the parentage of Joel, I myself included, there just isn't enough sufficient evidence to put forth thus far.

Census

The 2 Aug 1790 United States Federal Census was lost in Virginia, therefore I created this as a substitute. White Males under 16, ( Joel). This is not a source. One cannot create census records, just because they were lost.

The 4 Aug 1800 United States Federal Census was lost in Virginia, therefore I created this as a substitute. White Males 16-26, (Joel).

The 6 Aug 1810 United States Federal Census was lost in Russell County, Virginia, therefore I created this as a substitute. White Males under 10, (James, John) 16-25, (Joel) White Females under 10, (Margaret) 16-25, (Susannah).

In the 1820 census Joel was in Lebanon, Russell, Virginia, USA.[1]

Marriage

Joel married Susannah whose maiden name is currently unknown about 1804 in Russell County, Virginia, seeing as that is the year Joel emerged on the 1804 Tax List of Russell County, Virginia, proving Joel had been of age to establish his household making him above 21 years old.[2]This is not considered a good source of information.

The parentage of Joel is unknown. I am leaving Solomon and Rachel as parents labeled "uncertain" because they continue to pop up as Joel's parents, however, available evidence seems to point to the contrary.
