Biography
George and family moved to Denton County, Texas from Harrison County, Indiana by 1860. Supposedly, George was murdered trying to return to Indiana after the Civil War began, and wife Juli Ann Ragan Wright walked back to Indiana with her three youngest children.
- George and family are shown on 1860 Federal Census for Denton County, Texas. In 1850 they were shown in Federal Census for Harrison County, Indiana. Marriage to Juli Ann Ragan May 12, 1832, with consent of father Robert Wright, listed in Marriage Affidavits and Certificates, Harrison County, Indiana. 1809-1865, by Walter S. Beanblossom, page 28.
