DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:
This listing is unsubstantiated. Identifying William (born 1707 in Ireland) as the son of Samuel and Jean appears to be a guess based on the baptismal records of William's children at Tinkling Spring Church in Virginia. But there is not certainty that his son Samuel (from whom I descend) and his daughter Jean were his first son and daughter. In fact, his supposed daughter, Mary who married William Matthews may have been born about 8 years prior to Samuel's birth and before William appears in Virginia records. I have been researching this Wright family for over fifty years. Based on The 1845 Malcom will from which we get William's Wright's wife's name, I suspect that he had an older son named William Wright. If this William were his first son, then William (born 1707) would ahve been the son of William, not Samuel.
