Biography

Middlesex (historic flag)
James Wright was born in Middlesex, England.

James married the widow (?) Hannah Browning in Queensland, Australia on the 7th of August 1848. [1]

There is no death certificate for Frederick Wright, however there is an entry in the Index to Coroners Inquest which mentions an enquiry into the death of Frederick James Wright, with the finding that he died "from injuries accidentally received".

1875: Killed by the Fall of a Tree[2]
A magisterial inquiry was held on the 29th ult by H. Clements, Esq, on the body of an old man who had been killed by the falling of a tree at Nanima, the station of Mr Campbell near Eugowra. It appears that two sons of the deceased Frederick James Wright, had gone into the bush for the purpose of taking a bee's nest, the father shortly following them with a bucket to receive the honey. Arrived at the tree which the sons were engaged felling, they said it would fall in one direction, and the father persisted that it would fall the opposite way. Too late the old man perceived his mistake, and before he could get away, he was struck by the falling tree and killed instantly. One of the sons in rushing to save his father was himself knocked down but escaped comparatively unhurt.
Deceased was 57 years of age and the father of twenty-one children, fourteen of whom are alive. His son, a digger residing at Gulgong, was on a visit to the old people at Nanima, where they were shepherding for Mr. Campbell. (Forbes Times) .[3]

Note: So far, only eighteen children of Frederick James Wright have been located.
