Biography

Sarah Wright, 2nd dau. and third child of Dea. Ebenezer Wright and Sarah Butler, b. of record Sept. 3, 1726 at Wethersfield, Conn. She d. at Wethersfield Jan. 14, 1757, Æ 31 (g.s.) and is interred at Center Cemetery at present-day Rocky Hill, formerly part of the Town of Wethersfield, Conn.

On Oct. 12, 1749 at Wethersfield (by Rev. Daniel Russel of Stepney Parish, now Rocky Hill, Conn.), Sarah m. as his first wife, Nicholas Cady, prob. the s. of William Cady and bp. Jan. 9, 1725/6 at the Griswold Society Church at Preston, Conn. He d. testate but insolvent at Wethersfield between Mar. 21st and May 21st 1760. They had one child recorded at Wethersfield, son Butler, the surname of his maternal grandmother, b. Aug. 27, 1750 who d. in childhood Nov. 25, 1754. Inscription: Here lies ye Body of Mrs. Sarah, the Wife of Mr. Nicholas Cady, who died Jan'ry ye 14th 1757. In the 31st year of her Age.
