He served in the War of 1812 and received a land grant for this service which was passed to his son Adam for land in LeSeuer Co Minn. Biography of his son Andrew who lived in Morgan Co Indiana in County History of Morgan,Monroe and Brown Counties says he served as a Lieutenant in War of 1812. He was referred to as Captain by family and others because that was his rank in the Indiana Militia. The land grant NARA Warrant #10717-160-55 was for the 1 month he and his unit served in Federal service. He married (2) Mary Inyard, 00-000-1805?, b. in Pa, d. circa 1830. I. Elizabeth Wright, (daughter of William Wright) b. 00-000-1801. As of 9-91, I believe this Elizabeth Wright was the one living with a Davis in Washington County Indiana IN 1850? Census. Had a daughter Elizabeth. She married Adam P. Goodson, 00-000-1844 in Floyd County, In. II. Thomas Wright, (son of William Wright) b. 00-000-1802 in Kentucky, d. 00-000-1852 in Parke County, In, buried Ephlin Cemetery in Parke County, In. He married Elizabeth Burton, 20-Jul-1823 in by her grandfather Clement Nance, b. 04-May-1808, d. 05-Jul-1890 in Bloomington, Maclean, Il, buried Olio Cemetery in Eureka, Woodford, Il. Elizabeth: In the El Paso Journal Ilinois Journal July 12, 1890 on p. 2 , is the following obituary: DEATH OF MRS. ELIZABETH WRIGHT Saturday morning in Bloomington at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myers, occurred the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Wright, mother of J.Wright, of this city. She had an attack of the grip in the winter and it is thought she never fully recovered from its effects. She had attained the ripe old age of 82, having been born in southern Indiana in 1808. Mrs. Wright was the mother of thirteen children, six of whom, five sons and a daughter survive her. The remains was brought to this city, Monday, and in the afternoon were taken to Eureka. The funeral service was conducted by Elder Hall and the remains interred in the Eureka cemetery by the side of three of her children. The husband is buried in southern Indiana. In the Bloomington, Il Pantagraph, Tuesday, July 8, 1890 in Items Column: On Saturday in this city occurred the death of Mrs. B. Wright. She was aged over 80 and was the mother of Mr. Wright who resides in this city and conducts a store in ElPaso. The body was yesterday taken to Eureka for internment. III. William H Wright, (son of William Wright) b. 00-000-1804 in Kentucky, d. 00-000-1871. Mary Jane Cole was administrator of his estate. He lived with a Baggerly family at the time of his death. He married Lucy Fields, 12-Mar-1841 in Morgan Co, In, b. 6-Apr-1820 in North Carolina, (daughter of Allen Fields and Elizabeth Pitcher) d. 29-Aug-1902 in Van Buren Twp. Mary Jane Wright, (daughter of William Wright and Mary Inyard) b. 00-000-1821 in Floyd Co In, d. 00-000-1886 in Floyd Co In. Mary Jane Wright Cole was deceased by 11-Oct-1886. Noble D. George: Marriage license issued on this date. p. 60*check this paging Mary Jane Cole administrix of George Cole's estate filed a final report on his estate on Saturday October 1, 1864 in the Floyd County Court. James M Wright, (son of William Wright and Mary Inyard) b. 00-000-1823 in Floyd Co In, d. 22-Nov-1897 in Lanesville, Harrison Co In. James M. Wright's will is in Harrison Co In Book E p.515. His 2nd wife Eliza- beth's statement is on p. 592 of Book E. Four of James five children are mentioned in their grandfather (presumed relationship as of 8/9/91) Uriah Davis will. The son James is not mentioned. Harrison co. Book D p.129. He married (1) Harriott Davis, (daughter of Uriah Davis). He married (2) Elizabeth Riley, in Harrison Co In. XI. Masylvia Wright, (daughter of William Wright and Mary Inyard) b. 00-000-1827 in Franklin Twp. Floyd Co In, d. by 1880. She married Frederick Arter, 00-000-1847 in Floyd County, In by M.of G. Thomas Gunn, b. 00-000-1821 in Prussia, d. in Ohio Soldiers Home. Frederick: Information on Frederick Arter was obtained from the Federal Census and from National Archives Pension File Soldiers Certificate #755074. Frederick served in Company K 7th Infantry Regiment of the Minnesota Volunteers. At the age of 43, he enlisted August 19, 1862 at Fort Snelling Minnesota to serve for three years. He was described as 5'11" with gray eyes, light complexion and dark hair. His birthplace was recorded as Luxemborgh, Holland, however, in the 1880 census it is listed as Prussia. He was discharged April 4, 1865 because of physical disability. At this time he gave his address as Cleveland, LeSeur County, Minn The 29th of July, 1888, he applied for a pension for his Army service during the Civil War era. On this application he stated that after being discharged that he settled in Nicollet County near St. Peter, Minnesota. At the time of this application, he is a resident of the Floyd County Indiana poor house. He later moved to the Ohio Military Veterans Home.
