Twin (non-identical) of Betty.
Her first husband, Albert, was a violent man who threatened on her wedding night to 'knock her about' if she didn't 'behave herself'. He was abusive and she had hardly any money for food, even when she was pregnant. She was fortunate to escape from this marriage.
Worked as a cinema usherette before her first marriage.
During WWII she was evacuated from London with her infant son to Poulton le Fylde, Lancashire (near Blackpool). Her mum insisted she take her younger sister, Barbara, with her.
George Evans, her second husband, was a much more gentle man and they had a long and happy marriage, spending their last years in a small house in Higham Ferrars, Northamptonshire. I remember Rose was a great collector and the house was full of antiques and other knick-knacks.
Her ashes with those of her husband are buried at Cheslverston cum Caldecott Church, Northamptonshire. They loved this place due to the beautiful display of snowdrops.
