Biography

Major outlived three wives. On September 28, 1893, he married Georgie Etta Parker, of Lowell Massachusetts. Major's only child, Georgia Etta Wright, was born September 5, 1894. Georgie died following the childbirth. Major married Margaret M McLeod in 1898. In 1920 he married Ellen M. Kelley (Helen) who had been born in Massachusetts in 1886.

According to Lowell Directories Major lived with his sister Carrie and brother-in-law Willie in 1915. After Helen Wright died in Lowell, in 1940, Major also Joined Willie and Carrie in Cape Cod.

In various directories Major Wright is referred to as Major Wright Wright. I believe people considered Major to be a military title, but Major is his baptismal name. A number of boys within this extended family were baptized with the Christian name ‘Major’.
