After reading the notes here, it would help if you could please clarify exactly who is the John Wright who died in 1792. Can you share his wikitree profile number please ?
One problem area I found is that this profile for William Wright currently says he has a son named John Wright (d: 1789) not 1792.
And the profile notes here says that the John Wright, Jr. (d: 1789) was actually a grandson who lived in Surry County, VA.
Thanks for any help in solving this problem :)

quote> The Wright DNA project has proven that a William Wright is the father of John Wright (d: 1792).
But neither one of the 2 John Wrights you indicate may have died in 1792 have a father named William. So figuring this out will help us make corrections to this line which is showing different fathers for the same individual. Thanks
To clarify which man is a father and which is a son, you would have to look at MTdna from mothers of the 2 men ... that is because everyone get 50% dna from father and 50% dna from mother. That may have been done here ... but nothing is mentioned about those female differences on this profile.
A paternal grandfather, grandson, uncle & a male first cousin will also have the same matching Y-DNA as this father and son, and again to separate the different lines you would need to look at the mother's MTdna.

pretty sure the John wright who died in 92 was not a son of William and Mary. also reminder that John and Wingfield are listed as probable sons of William but it's believed that there's a very good chance that they are his son's.
pension records indicate that John who married Mary wray and was probably the son of William and Mary died about 1845. https://play.google.com/books/reader?id=wcyHDQAAQBAJ&pg=GBS.PA2.w.1.4.16_173

PROFILE QUOTE> The Wright DNA project has proven that a William Wright is the father of John Wright (d: 1792).
Can you tell me how this is proven to be true ?
quote> ... or his son john Jr. may have died in 1792 according to SAR.
The grandfather John Sr. Wright-744 would not have died in 1792 when he would have been over 105 years old ... his profile says, b: 25 Feb 1685; d: 1729
So I think the SAR is mostly like to be right here with John Jr. Wright-743, b: 08 Nov 1712; d: 1792.
