Biography

William was born on 4 July 1851 in Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana. He was the son of Joseph Wright and Nancy Jane (Myers) Gragg.[1]

In the 1860 census William (age 8) was living in Somerset, Mercer County, Missouri.[2]

In the 1870 census William (age 18) was living in Marion, Mercer County, Missouri.[3]

William Riley Wright married Susanna Moore in about 1873. The couple had one child: Isaac Franklin Wright.[4]

In the 1880 census William (age 28) was living in Guilford, Monroe County, Iowa.[5]

William Riley Wright married Julia A. Seaver on 14 October 1882 in Monroe, Iowa.[6][7][8][9] It was his second marriage.

In 1885 William (age about 33) was living in Bluff Creek, Monroe County, Iowa.[10]

In 1895 William (age about 43) was living in Troy Township, Monroe County, Iowa. Note: Age: 44[11]

Moved To: 1900 in Beaver, Beaver County, Oklahoma Territory.[12]

In 1900 William (age about 48) was living in Elmwood & Kokomo Townships, Beaver County, Oklahoma Territory.[13]

In the 1910 census William (age 58) was living in Elmwood, Beaver County, Oklahoma.[14]

In the 1920 census William (age 68) was living in Elmwood, Beaver County, Oklahoma.[15]

In 1930 William (age about 78) was living in Elmwood, Beaver County, Oklahoma.[16]

William died at the age of 85 on 9 January 1937 in Beaver, Beaver County, Oklahoma.[17][12]

Obituary:

William Riley Wright b 4 July 4 1851 at Green Castle, Indiana to Joseph and Nancy Wright. Moved with parent to Iowa when a boy. Married Susanna More who died leaving him with 4 small children. In 1882 he was married to Julia A. Severs and had 9 children. In 1900 they moved to a farm 5 miles south and 2 east of Beaver where he passed away 9 Jan. 1937. (Julia died 6 Feb 1932.)
Children: Angie (Gettings), Beaver. Frank of Marion, Neb, Tlbert of Kokomo, Ind., Hobart and John of Glendale, Ariz; 5 daughters, Lottie (Bringman) ofWellman, IA; Rosa (Coleman), Angie (Gettins) and Ethel (Noble) of Beaver and Lillie (Jacobs) of Glendale, Ariz. One brother, Martin Wright of Des Moines, IA; one sister Mary Boggs of Albia, IA, one half brother, Talbert Gragg of Missouri and one half sister, Susie (Barry) of Albia, Iowa.

William was buried after 9 January 1937 in Beaver Pioneer Cemetery, Beaver, Beaver County, Oklahoma.[18]
