Research Notes

• The 1850 U.S. Federal Census shows four children: Maria (age 12), Lory (age 10), Hannah (age 6), and Martha (age 3). It also shows a Robert Farmer (age 13) and James H. Farmer (age 7). Frederick's occupation is listed as a Wheelwright. No real estate or personal estate values are listed.
• The 1860 U.S. Federal Census shows the following children: James (age 14), Hanner (age 14), Silisten (age 10), Warren (age 8), Nicholas (age 6), and Roxanna (age 2). Frederick is now listed as a Farmer with his real estate value at $800 and his personal estate value at $200.
• The 1870 U.S. Federal Census shows the following children: Warren (age 17), Nicholas (age 14), Roxanna (age 12), Thomas (age 10), Lettie (age 4), and Adaline (age 1). He is still a farmer with his real estate value listed at $650 and his personal estate value at $200.
• On all of these censuses, his ethnicity is listed as Mulatto.
• On many family trees on ancestry.com, his parents are listed as Nicholas M. (b: 1780) and Mary Wright (1785-1850). They list his siblings as Warren (1803-1865) and Warner (1810-1865). Further research is needed to confirm this.
