Biography

Joseph Wyatt was born about 1728 in New Kent County, Virginia, the son of Henry Wyatt and Elizabeth Dandridge.[1]

Joseph married Dorothy Peyton Smith.[2]

In 1759, Joseph Wyatt, of King William County, and Dorothy his wife deeded land in Louisa County to Edmund Massie, of Louisa.

Joseph served more than 20 years as a member of the Virginia Assembly.[1]

Joseph Wyatt died about 1770 in New Kent County, Virginia.

Looks like the date of marriage for Joseph and Dorothy may be incorrect. Based on the sourced finding I posted in the bio above, which showed in 1759 "Joseph Wyatt and wife Dorothy" deeded land in Louisa County, and the fact that a few of their children are shown as being born in the 1750's, they probably were married earlier than the Ancestry.com marriage record shows. Not necessarily a "game-changing" find, but helps to piece together a more accurate timeline.
