Biography

On 23 March 1870 Emily Caroline Wyatt was born in Temuka, New Zealand, to Charlotte and William Wyatt. ^[1][2]

She married Alfred Colville Their marriage date is given as 11 April 1889, in a newspaper article about her golden wedding anniversary in 1939,^[3], but also as 10 April 1892 in birth/death/marriage records^[4], and 11 April 1899 in her obituary. The last is presumably a typo, since it also refers to the 50th (golden) wedding anniversary. They had 15 children.

On 15 October 1939 Emily Caroline Colville passed away at her residence in McMurdo Street, Tinwald, aged 69. She was buried at Ashburton Cemetery on 17 October.^[6][7][8][9]
