Biography

Thomas M. Wyatt was my uncle, married to my father's oldest sister. We nieces and nephews from his wife's side of the family all called him "Uncle Bud." He was a farmer. He had a large peach orchard that he was justifiably proud of. I know he registered for the draft in WW I, but I don't know if he was called up.

ATLANTA — Funeral services for Thomas M. Wyatt Sr., 93, of Atlanta were to be at 2 p.m. today at Atlanta Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ray Teal and the Rev. Sammy Morrow officiating.

Burial was to be in the Atlanta Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Wyatt died Wednesday night at the Winnfield General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin Wyatt and Leon Wyatt both of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Virgie Williams of Georgetown and Mrs. Dorothy Wieser of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Miss Maggie Wyatt; 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
