Biography

Jesse Wyatt, son of Jesse and Paulina Wyatt, was born in Tennessee on November 27, 1847. ^[1]

He married Zorada Morton around 1871. They are living in Calloway County, Kentucky in 1880 where he farmed for a living. ^[2] Zorada passed away around 1887. They had eight known children and her marriage and death dates are based on the birth dates of her first and last born. Their children were:

6. Elva Jane b. 1882
7. Walter Mathney b. 1886
8. Laura M. b. 1887

Jesse married again to Elizabeth Johnson. It was his third marriage, but it is unclear who besides Zorada he had married before Elizabeth. Their bond was posted on August 8, 1888 in Calloway County, Kentucky. Henry B. (H.B.) Self, Jesse's stepfather, signed as surety. They were both 40 years of age and it was her first marriage. He states he was born in Stewart County, Tennessee, as were his parents. ^[3]

In the next Census, in 1900, Jesse's wife was Mary S., and they had been married for 5 years. Living with them were her two children, Viola, 3, and Nicholas, 2 months, as well as two children from his marriage to Zorada, Walter, 15, and Laura, 13. ^[4]

Jesse died in Liberty, Calloway County, Kentucky on January 25, 1916 at the age of 68. Cause of death was acute gastritis with influenza being contributory. ^[1][5]
