Biography

Asa Wyman was born in 1767. He was the son of John Wyman (1739-) and Phebe (Cross) Wyman (1742-).

Asa married Mercy Tarbox in New Hampshire in February of 1789. They had seven children and raised them in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts. Asa's death record says that he was a laborer.

Research Notes

  • By 1798 the family had moved to Tyngsborough, Massachusetts.
  • Asa is recorded on the U.S. Census in 1810, 1820, 1830, and 1840 with his family in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts.
  • His son Asa also married a woman named Mercy.
  • Children's names: Samuel (Samme Terry on birth record, Samuel Perry/Percy elsewhere), Mercy, Rebeckah, Sarah, Phebe, Mahala, and Asa Jr.
