Sarah Wynn was born on 07 October 1794 and baptised on 27 February 1797 at Vepery, Madras, India. She is the daughter of Robert Nanny Wynn and Elizabeth (Hart) Wynn Nanny

Sarah was one of five known children of Robert & Elizabeth (nee Hart) Nanny Wynn (there were five born and christened while serving in India.
