Ethel was born on 30 January 1886 in Santa Rosa, Sonoma, California, United States. She was the daughter of Oliver Yates and Olive Iphigenia Effegenia (Fowler) Yates.[1]

In the 1930 census Ethel (age 44) was living in Santa Rosa, Sonoma, California.[2]
Ethel died at the age of 71 on 14 July 1957 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, United States.[3]
