Biography
Alice Catherine Yates was baptised on 3 August in Elmstone Hardwicke by parents William and Lucy. [1] Lucy's maiden name was Yates.
1881 census has Alice with sisters Mary Ann and Elizabeth as boarders. (possibly living with their elder sister Jane who is married, just a guess)
In 1884 Alice Yates and Richard Scrivens married in Cheltenham. Richard was a Coachman, his father Richard was a labourer. Alice's father William was a Shepherd. Arthur Yates was one of the witnesses. [2]
Alice K Scrivens died in Newport in 1929 age 65 [3]
Note
Her children's birth records show her maiden surname as Yeates.
