There were at least three Peter John Shoemakers. The one that is most likely is married to Elizabeth See not Eliza Youlehem (Yoakum). This needs further clarification and either proved or disproved.
  • Valentine “Felty” Yokum b. c.1724 married Margaret See? d. 17 Jul 1763 Muddy Creek, Greenbrier County, WV, He was killed by Indians led by Chief Cornstalk on 17 July 1763. Also killed, Frederick See. Captured were Valentine's daughters Elizabeth and Sally. Archibald Clendenning was killed elsewhere, the only person surviving the attack at Clendenning's was Conrad Yokum. January 1765, list of captives released to Col. Henry Bouquet by the Shawnees included George and Margaret Yokum, taken in Augusta County; Elisabeth Yokum, 12, and Sally Yokum, about 5, captured 1763 on 17 Jul 1763. Shawnee captives
Elizabeth "Yoakim" is mentioned on List F "List of Prisoner's delivered up by the Shawanese Indians at Mackwayack and arrived at Fort Pitt 5th January 1765" as being 12 years old, taken July 1763 from Green Bryar, Augusta County (William S. Ewing "Indian Captives Released", WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA HISTORICAL MAGAZINE, V39 (1956):187-203.)
Other Yoakums mentioned in the Captivity lists include George, Margaret, and Sally (age 5.)
John SHEWMAKER and Elizabeth Youlkam. Aug 13 1782 married by John Alderson (Greenbrier Co Marriage Records, Book 1A:135 -- from image of original). Could be a daughter of Felty or Conrad or possibly a Yoakum widow.
1781-- Revolutionary War Publick Claims for Greenbrier Co lists John Shoemaker receiving L3-14 for 74 rations.
1782 - Greenbrier Co,VA/WV Personal Property Tax List: Mr. Wm Hamilton's District.
John Shoemaker listed with 3 horses, no slaves living next door to George Whaley and Isaac Fisher. Also living in same district are Michael Sea, Peter Shoemaker, John Hardy, William Morris Jr., Conrod Yochim, John Shoemaker, Wm and Leonard Morris, George Yoacham, George Six?, David, Owen, James, and Jesse Jarrett, John Van Bibber, 2 Wm Griffins, James Graham.
1782, June 19: List of people paid for rations furnished to the government includes: Peter Shoemaker 74; Geo Sea - 74; Michael Sea-74; John Shoemaker-74 (Shuck: V1: 109-11)
1786, Aug 9 : John Shoemaker 50a. on Muddy Crk by st. war. for 1300 a. #10933 asnee Geo Snuffer (p.46)

Yoakum-220 and Yoakum-162 appear to represent the same person because: same person. Name is not sarah though. Thats her sister.
