In the name of God Amen. I Jacob Yoacum of Hardy County State of Virginia, being old and infirm, but of sound & disposing mind memory and understanding, do make and ordain this instrument of writing to be my last will and testament. first, I give and bequeath to my grandson Sandford Simmons, son of Valentine Simmons my silver mounted sword 2nd all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate real personal and mixt (after my just debts are paid) I give devise and bequeath to my grand daughter, Sally Simmons, whom I raised to have and to hold the same to her her[sic] heirs and assigns forever. Lastly, I nominate and appoint David Spoht Geo C Harness of the town of Moorefield, executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking & annulling any and every will codicil or writing testamentary by me heretofore made hereby ratifying & confirming this to be my last will and testament.
