Hannah Enochson married James Yoakham on 26 Aug 1715 at Christ Church, Philadelphia.[6] Her first name is given as Julianna in an entry for this marriage in the unreliable U.S. and International Marriages database on Ancestry.com.[7]
There is some doubt about the dates of birth of the children. Jonas, in particular, if born in 1744, was almost too late, given his mother's age.[5]
Dr. Charles A. Yocom of Reading, a great, great, great grandson of Jonas Yocum, presented the date-stone of Jonas' house to the Historical Society of Berks County, in October 1920. He states thate Jonas came to Pottstown in 1703. The house was built in 1723 and still stood in 1920, two miles east of Douglassville at the intersection of the turnpike and Squirrel Hollow Road.[8][9]
Smith (n.d.) cites the history of Montgomery County as its primary source of information on the descendants to Jonas Yocum. The history lists Jonas Yocum as one of 16 men who settled in Berks County in 1701, thus accepting the offer made much earlier by William Penn of land there in exchange for their lands in the Philadelphia area. Jonas obtained 350 acres in Amity Township. If Jonas was indeed born in 1689, he was independent at a very early age. Mans Jonasson, Jonas' uncle, was also among the 16 men who moved to Amity, and he may have acted as Jonas' guardian.[8]

Death
Will: dated 08 Aug 1757, proved 27 Dec 1760.
Son Peter received the land where Jonas lived, 150 acres. The three daughters received one shilling each, plus the moveable estate at the death of their mother.
Grandsons Jonas, Peter, and John Yocum (John's sons), received the plantation where Jonas lived (seemingly in contradiction to the bequest to son Peter). Son John's widow Margaret, now pregnant, was to have the use of the land during her widowhood to help bring up the children. The unborn child was to have an equal share with the others. The will also provided for his widow Hannah. Executors were his son Peter and son-in-law Mounce Jones.
Descendants
Jonas' descendants chose the spelling Yocom, while other lines of the family used Yocum.[10]
Research Notes
This profile previously had connected as a child Ingaborn Yocum but this is impossible as Ingaborn was born before Johan.
Supposedly buried at St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church and graveyard....and Mouns Jones house in Douglasville, Bucks County, PA
↑ Dr. Charles Yocom thought the Yocums (by whatever spelling) were descendants of Yoakim and Susannah, from Ancient Babylonia and whose story is told in the Old Testament Apocryphal book known as Daniel and Susannah. | Jun 1, 2012 by Steve St. Martin.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jonas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jonas:
Yocum-196 and Yocum-7 appear to represent the same person because: they share the same birthdate and birthplace, the same death date in the same area and the same parents.
Warning: Check the data. A child's birth date (Yocum-221 born 1670) should not be before a parent is six years old (Yocum-7 born Feb 1689) .
