Biography

Mary "Molly" York was born 30 Apr 1733 @ Stonington, New London County, Connecticut. She was the second child of William York (b. Stonington in 1705) and Hannah Palmer (b. 1694 in Stonington).

Molly married Amos Palmer Nov 5, 1749 in North Stonington, New London Co., Connecticut. They were married by Amos' father, Elder Wait Palmer, in the First Baptist Church organized in 1743. Elder Wait Palmer was chosen its pastor and was ordained the same year.

The meeting house/church was located eight miles from Pawcatuck bridge and two miles south of Pendleton Hill.

Amos & Molly had 16 PALMER children. All the children, through son Stephen, were born at Stonington/North Stonington, New London Co., CT and the rest, from Phineas on, were born in Hopkinton, Washington Co., Rhode Island:
