1850 census on 17 Sept in New Castle Tp, Schuylkill Co, PA, house #2071, family # 2093, shows Aaron YOST age 36 [= b. 1814] living next to our Reuben YOST -- assume they are brothers. Aaron is a teamster; wife Catherine is 30; two sons Steward and Chester are 7 and 3.
1860 census: Northumberland Co, Coal Tp, on 14 July: Aaron YOST is a laborer age 39, wife Catharine 35, Steward R. YOST 16 no occupation given, Jasper Ellis YOST 19 laborer, Dora P. YOST 9, William C. YOST 6, Mary L. YOST 1. His widowed mother Sarah is not with him or his brother, so where was she?.
1870 census on 20 Aug., Coal Tp, Shamokin P.O., Northumberland Co PA: house #244: Aaron is 50, works at mines; Cate is 48; Steward 27 works at mines; Dora is 18; Charles [William C.?] 16 works at mines.
1880 census Coal Tp, Northumberland Co PA, Village of Coal Run (outside Shamokin) & Swamp: Aaron YOST age 62 [= b. 1818], laborer; wife Catharine is 56; with them is dau. Dora BALENTIN age 28 with 3 children William 8, Charles 6, and Jessie (female) BALENTIN age 3, whose father was born in Scotland.
