When David was about 21 he married Samantha Ann Maybee in 1856.

In the 1881 census David (age 46), Farmer, was recorded as married in Denbigh, Addington Highlands, Lennox and Addington, Ontario, Canada.^[1]

In the 1911 census David was the widowed father of Joseph Youmans in Lennox and Addington Sub-Districts 1-35, Ontario, Canada.^[2]

David died at the age of 78 on 9 April 1912 in Tweed, Ontario, Canada.
